MayaWrap Slings

Full Circle Parenting has transferred the distributorship for MayaWraps to the fabulous mamas at Babes in Arms.  Check them out for all your babywearing, cloth diapering, clothing, and natural baby toys!  www.babesinarms.ca

Would you love to hold your baby close while still having your hands free?  Would you love to help your baby develop physically, emotionally, and socially, all at once?  Would you love to ditch the cumbersome stroller and the luggable carseat and just travel light?

Wear your baby in a sling!

  • Babies carried in slings walk sooner, as the exercise they get from the resistance of the fabric, and your body, strengthens their backs, legs, and arms.
  • Babies carried in slings develop better balance, as the sling allows them to adjust their own position while still being held safely enclosed.
  • Carried babies cry less, and develop positive communication skills sooner.  Carried babies develop non-crying behaviour to ask to be put down.  Babies left in cribs, playpens or baby seats most of the time develop crying behaviour to ask to be picked up.
  •  Carried babies spend more time exposed to socialization compared to babies in strollers, as they are up and nearer to adult conversation.  They can develop social skills and become comfortable in social situations.  They are better able to respond to friendly overtures from others, as they are in your arms, feeling safe and secure.
  • Carried babies process stress more easily, as close contact with your body helps them to diffuse their stress response.

Full Circle Parenting loves the Maya Wrap because it is beautiful, comfortable, versatile, durable and fairly-traded.  The MayaWrap is incredibly adjustable and able to fit a wide variety of body shapes and sizes, and you can carry your baby in a variety of positions.  There are also Organic MayaWraps available.

Babes in Arms will help you take the time to help you choose the sling that will work best for you, and get comfortable in your new sling.  Feel free to peek at our tips and tricks, which are online here so that you can check back anytime.
