Yoga Shala (www.yogashalacalgary.com)

I love the Yoga Shala.  My favourite classes are the traditional Ashtanga Yoga instructor-led or self-led classes, where you do the same thing every time.  I found that I experience a mild level of panic when I attend classes during which the instructor surprises me with new positions which cause me extreme discomfort and last for unnecessary numbers of seconds.  (My theory is that these more exciting classes are for people who do the same thing every day, and need some challenge and excitement in their lives.  Since this mom's life has plenty of daily challenge and excitement, I personally thrive on repetition in my Yoga experiences, which, for me, creates consistent and obvious improvement and more feelings of pleasure than pain.  But if you are the surprise-type, the Yoga Shala does that, too.  I have left a few of those classes, weeping, but I assure you that most of the people in attendance seemed very happy.)

This phrase epitomizes what I love about Fit Frog: "choose a lifestyle, not a gym."  They lead urban hikes and mountain dayhikes, too.  Click here to get the scoop on hiking with Fit Frog and kids!
