The Light Cellar (www.thelightcellar.ca)
Besides making amazing raw chocolate, and teaching you how to, too, this family-owned business offers fairly traded sustainably priced 100% raw organic superfoods to bulk buyers and wholesale customers. They also offer classes and personalized consulting for cleanses and other nutrition-related stuff. They have a great monthly newsletter, as well.
First Step Nutrition (www.firststepnutrition.com)
Jennifer House is a registered dietician specializing in pregnant women, new moms, and children. She's helpful, healthy, and focused on helping you figure out food!
Vitamins First (www.vitaminsfirst.ca)
My little girl calls Vitamins First in Marda Loop "the bar store" because this is one of our favourite places to go to pick up a healthy snack when we're out and about. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable.
Community Natural Foods (www.communitynaturalfoods.com)
They have little carts! What else can I say? Oh, I know, I can say that the knowledgeable staff and wide variety of natural products makes Community a great resource when someone in your house has a cold or other minor ailment, as well as a great place to do your day-to-day shopping. One of the things I particularly like about Community Natural Foods is that the staff can often tell you exactly where a given product comes from.
